QANTAS BOEING 747 LANDS AT KIA WITH HUNDREDS OF TOURISTS

Kilimanjaro International airport (KIA), the second largest in Tanzania, has received and handled the iconic Boeing 747 aircraft operated by Australia flag carrier (Qantas) with a total of 310 touristy passengers on board destined to visit the Serengeti National park.

The aircraft, which is one of the biggest passenger airliner in the market in terms of size and seating capacity landed at the airport on the 27th of April 2018 where passengers were transferred to small chartered planes in groups before proceeding to Serengeti National park for three days of enjoying the beautiful fauna and flora naturally endowed to the park.

Speaking on a brief ceremony held at the airport prior to departure of the tourists on the 30th of April 2018, KADCO’s Managing Director, Engineer Christopher Mukoma reiterated on the important role Kilimanjaro International airport (KIA) is playing on boosting both local and international tourism in northern Tanzania.
